The town council has two committees. Any decisions by these committees are put to the full council meetings for further scrutiny or ratification. The meetings are open for observation by members of the public, but neither allow for public debate.
The Assets Committee deals with any matters concerning land, buildings and memorials leased or owned by the Town Council. The Asset Committee usually meets quarterly in the Lyric Theatre at 2pm unless otherwise stated on the agenda when published.

Community Working Group
The Community Working Group (CWG) is responsible for organising the annual Christmas Festival and any other community-based initiative on behalf of the full council. The CWG will meet as required.

The Finance Committee deals with finance matters in the absence of the full Town Council, and employment issues when required.

The Staffing Committee deals with employment issues when required.

Due to the subjects potentially under discussion the decision about whether to open any Staffing Committee meeting to the public will be detailed prior to the meeting.
The next meeting of the Staffing Committee will be on Thursday 4th April 2019 at 2pm but the subjects under discussion mean this meeting will not be open to the public.
Lyric Management Working Group
The Lyric Management Working Group is established to ensure, on behalf of the full council, The Lyric is managed successfully and in compliance with current regulations.
